Bob Lutzel collection of Flying Eagle and Indian Cent varieties
1856-1909
This is one of the top collections of varieties ever offered. This will be a memorable event for variety collectors for years to come.
The Lutzel collection will be offered at fair prices that will be looked upon in the years to come as an event that should have been capitalized on! While there are duplicates of many tough coins,
the availability of many of these varieties will be long remembered as a golden opportunity! I will be listing the Lutzel coins with historical references to other sales including the Larry Steve
and Al Mays collections in the "More Info" Wiki site. Please reserve your choices early. With the perfect storm of The new Cherrypicker's Guide being published later this year, the PCGS registry
opening up to varieties and my archive of condition census and past sales on the "More Info" Wiki site, the opportunity for variety collectors is obvious.

1857 Snow-16 Multiple digits in the neck. MS-64 NGC $1,600.00
This is a nearly mark-free example with multiple digits in the neck of the eagle. This coin is all there for a MS64, or even a MS65, but
is extremely weakly struck. That is too bad, as this is a really cool coin. Priced accordingly. Ex: Bob Lutzel Collection.

1859 Snow-1 1859/1859 MS-61 {PS} NGC $3,000.00
Exceptional strike with very bold detail. This is one of the top varieties in the series in terms of how dramatic it is. It is quite
tough to find besides, making it much more valuable than the 1894/1894 or 1867/67 repunched dates. Years can go by without an example showing up.

20% RED. Full strike and good luster. woodgrain toning. It is a good example of the defective digit punch used this year. Here it is sunk very deep

1865 Plain 5 RPD MS-63RD ANACS-old $500.00
Fully struck and all there for a full red. A few light spots limit the grade. The label says RPD but there is no major repunched date here.
There is a very bold clash mark on both dies, but that does not add any premium to this coin.
Ex:Bob Lutzel Collection.
See Image
1865 Fancy 5 Snow-1a MS-65BN {PS} PCGS $1,200.00
Great strike and very lustrous. This is a neat variety with an overdate on the digit punch! This means that the die is not overdated,
but the matrix that the digit punches were raised from had the overdate. Confused? It simply means than a few dies can have the same
overdate feature. So far two Indian Cent dies and a Two Cent die have been confirmed. This one also has a repunched date.

a 1865/4 but it is a 5/4 digit punch. This piece is a great study piece as it shows all the detail so clear! The coin is also nearly full
red and perhaps should be called full red. Old thick NGC holder from over 13 years ago.

1897 WDDO-001 Discovery pc. MS-63RB ANACS-old $75.00
40% RED. Full strike. This is a gorgeous coin. WDDO stands for Wexler Doubled Die Obverse. I have looked and looked and looked and cannot find any doubling on this coin. But, it
is the discovery example! I like the coin as a very high end MS63, possibly a 64RB.
